Fun tournament brings padel and tennis players together at Olivedale Tennis Club

Olivedale Tennis Club was buzzing with excitement as padel and tennis players shared the courts.

A fun and exciting padel vs tennis tournament was recently held at Olivedale Tennis Club, bringing together players from both sports for a day of friendly competition, learning, and community spirit.

The event was designed to introduce tennis players to the fast-growing sport of padel and to allow padel players to experience tennis. Since the tennis and padel facilities are located within the same club grounds, they provide the perfect setting for players to mix, interact, and learn from one another.

Jill Meintjes, of the club, explained that they were all playing against one another. Each game was 24 points, and players served six times each. “We were trying to get the padel people and the tennis people a bit together because we always say tennis is better than padel and they say padel is better than tennis. It was just a bit of a fun afternoon for the clubs to join up and have some fun.”
