Garden Village residents traded their usual afternoon routine for a day at the poker table, as the home hosted a Father’s Day casino day filled with laughter, friendly competition and good company.
The event almost did not happen after the home ran into difficulty securing casino dealers, but staff refused to let that get in the way of a good time.

With some quick thinking and teamwork, they pulled the day together and gave residents an experience to remember.
Residents took their seats at the poker table with excitement, ready to try their luck and show off their card skills. The room buzzed with energy throughout the day as winning hands were celebrated and friendly rivalries played out between the tables.
Between hands, residents enjoyed refreshments and caught up with friends, taking in the lively casino atmosphere that had been created especially for the occasion.
Garden Village staff member Nolo Mafatlha said the day came together despite the early setbacks.

“What started as a challenge turned into a huge success, proving that with teamwork and a positive spirit, anything is possible,” she said.
She thanked everyone involved in making the day special. “Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special for our fathers and residents.”
