Life First Pregnancy Help Centre in Windsor empowers expectant mothers

Expectant mothers in Windsor East received practical pregnancy guidance and words of encouragement as Life First Pregnancy Help Centre hosted a Mandela Day initiative.

In the true spirit of Mandela Day, Life First Pregnancy Help Centre, a non-profit organisation committed to supporting pregnant women and new mothers, hosted a heart-warming community event in Windsor East.

The initiative brought together expectant mothers from the local community for a day of learning, encouragement, and empowerment.

Life First Pregnancy Help Centre’s event focused on equipping pregnant women with valuable knowledge about pregnancy, childbirth, and life after giving birth.

Lyn van Blerk, Life First Centre director, explained that they offer programmes and free services for women in need and possibly even in crisis.

“We welcome all women as we want them to be well and also to take better care of their children. We offer programmes, support, and groups. We want to build stronger communities, families and relationships.

“We had treats and had a speaker coming to motivate these women and advise them on their journey.”

Beyond the educational sessions, the gathering created a safe space where the women could connect, share their experiences, and ask questions, as they prepared for one of life’s most significant journeys.

The centre confirmed its commitment to walking alongside women throughout their pregnancy and beyond. They offer other services like teaching women sewing and other skills to ensure they have the support and other skills they need to thrive.

Attendees left with practical knowledge, renewed confidence, and a sense of belonging.
