Randburg residents cheer thousands of riders on during Ride Joburg cycle race

Residents came out in numbers to support and cheer for cyclists during the Ride Joburg event that saw participants push their limits.

The much anticipated 28th edition of Ride Joburg has once again transformed the city into a cycling haven, with thousands of riders weaving through Johannesburg’s most iconic landmarks.

Starting and finishing at the FNB Stadium, participants embarked on a thrilling journey that celebrated fitness, community spirit, and the vibrant heartbeat of the city.

Now in its 28th year, Ride Joburg continues to be more than just a race. It’s a celebration of the city’s dynamism and diversity, bringing together cycling enthusiasts from around the world, all eager to conquer the streets and experience Joburg from a new perspective.

Cyclists tackled two major routes, the 97km road race and the 35km short ride, each showcasing the city’s beauty and grit. Randburg Sun was on Jan Smuts and Braam Fischer Drive to capture the cyclists as they passed by.
