Rain can’t dampen Saints’ rowing celebration spirit

Despite rainy skies, St Stithians rowers and supporters came together at Roodeplaat Dam to celebrate 30 years of girls’ rowing and the school’s enduring legacy.

The St Stithians College Family of Schools came together in true Saints spirit to celebrate 30 years of girls’ rowing and the long-standing Saints rowing legacy that began in 1969.

The Saints Rowing Regatta, hosted jointly by the Girls’ and Boys’ Colleges at Roodeplaat Dam, drew 18 schools from across Gauteng for a day filled with racing, camaraderie, and celebration.

Despite rainy conditions, spirits remained high as rowers, parents, and supporters came together to reflect the Saints’ values of resilience, teamwork, and unity.

The event not only marked an important milestone for the Girls’ College rowing programme but also honoured the generations of Saints rowers, coaches, and parents who have kept the tradition alive.
