Randburg and Linden schools gets ready for historic derby weekend
Hoërskool Randburg has appealed for patience from residents as the area prepares to host one of Johannesburg’s biggest and most storied school sporting rivalries against Hoërskool Linden from 21 to 23 May 2026.
Hoërskool Randburg has issued a friendly notice to residents and surrounding communities regarding the upcoming annual derby and league fixtures against rivals Hoërskool Linden.
The much-anticipated clashes will take place from Thursday 21 May to Saturday 23 May 2026, bringing increased activity to the school and surrounding areas. Residents can expect busier roads, larger crowds, cheering, music and the vibrant atmosphere typical of high school match days.

While the temporary increase in traffic and noise may cause some inconvenience, the school emphasises that this derby is one of Johannesburg’s premier sporting traditions. The historic rivalry showcases school sport, healthy competition and strong community spirit that players, parents and supporters eagerly anticipate each year.
