Randburg FC U15 share points with Future of Africa in 4-goal thriller
A late penalty conversion sealed a dramatic comeback as Randburg FC and Future of Africa settled for a point in their Gauteng Development League clash.
Randburg Football Club U15 and Future of Africa played out an entertaining 2—2 draw in a thrilling Gauteng Development League (GDL) encounter that kept both sets of supporters on edge until the final whistle.
The home side made a bright start and drew first blood after a promising attack down the right flank. Randburg midfielder Mcneil Zinzombe raced into space before unleashing a shot that struck the post. The rebound fell kindly to Hiborne Mahachi, who made no mistake from close range to give the hosts a 1—0 lead.

However, the home side became slightly casual after going ahead, allowing Future of Africa to grow into the contest.
The visitors showed determination and continued pushing forward, eventually finding the equaliser before halftime through Zain Maxwell (1—1). The goal lifted their confidence and gave them renewed belief heading into the second half.
Future of Africa carried that momentum after the restart, and Kamohelo Matima headed home their second goal of the afternoon, putting Randburg on the back foot (2—1).
The hosts, however, gradually found their rhythm again. Showing patience in the opposition half, Randburg began moving the ball around effectively and looking for openings. Their persistence eventually paid off when the visitors, under pressure, committed a foul inside the box.

The referee pointed to the spot, handing Randburg a golden opportunity to level the contest. Phaledi Nke stepped up and converted, bringing the score to 2—2.
Neither side could find a winning goal in the closing stages, and the match ended all square, with both teams sharing the spoils after an exciting battle.
Future of Africa coach Abayomi Adebayo said that the game was enjoyable for the fans, but they could have done better and walked away with maximum points.
“We create a lot of chances, and we do not score. That has been our downfall throughout the season. We are working on it. The GDL is not easy, and we need to do better at converting chances.”
