Passionate about soccer? Local association wants you on its team

The Randfontein Local Football Association is inviting residents to get involved in growing and strengthening local soccer.

The Randfontein Local Football Association (RLFA) is calling on passionate soccer enthusiasts from across the community to help develop the sport at grassroots level by volunteering on its subcommittees.

The association is inviting interested individuals to contribute their time and expertise by serving on one or more of its committees.

According to RLFA secretary Mojalefa Molefe, the initiative offers an opportunity for community members who are passionate about soccer administration, development and governance to play an active role in shaping the future of the game in Randfontein.

The available subcommittees include the Finance and Procurement Committee and the Competitions Committee, which is responsible for organising and managing local leagues and tournaments.

Those interested in developing players are encouraged to join the Technical and Development Committee, while individuals with an interest in match officiating can serve on the Local Referees Committee. The Legal, Membership, Status and Disputes Committee will focus on governance, compliance and resolving disputes within the association.

To promote inclusivity and grow the game at all levels, the RLFA is also seeking volunteers for the Women’s Football Committee and the Youth Football Committee. Both committees play an important role in increasing participation and creating opportunities for emerging players.

The Safety, Security and Protocol Committee will help ensure that all soccer activities are conducted in a safe, secure and well-managed environment.

Molefe emphasised that although these positions are voluntary, they are essential to the continued growth of local soccer. By involving members of the community, the RLFA hopes to build a stronger, more transparent and community-driven soccer structure.

Soccer enthusiasts who would like to make a difference and contribute to the development of the sport are encouraged to get involved. Through community participation and collective effort, local soccer can continue to grow and create opportunities for players, officials and supporters alike.
