A 55-year old man was hijacked while driving past the Randfontein Golf Course on 4 June.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Erns, the man was flagged down by another vehicle, whose occupant indicated that there was something wrong on his vehicle.

He stopped to investigate and was overpowered by three suspects.

They forced him back into his vehicle at gunpoint and then drove off.

The suspects drove around with the victim and later covered his head before placing him in the boot of another vehicle.

The suspects drove around for another while before dropping the victim off at the side of the road.

The victim’s car, a white Toyota Quantum with registration number XCR 988 GP has, to date, not been recovered.
