A Homelake woman became a victim in the ongoing surge of street robberies on 31 May when she was accosted by two men while walking in Homelake.

The woman was walking near the bridge in Van Riebeeck Street at around 1.30pm two men approached her and demanded that she hand over her cellphone.

When she refused, one suspect produced a firearm and pointed it at her.

One of the suspects grabbed the phone and they both took off running in the direction of the CBD.

The investigating officer, Warrant officer Thabiso Duiker requests any person who might have witnessed the incident to contact him on 011 278 8100.
