Local Randfontein business, Supreme Pet, wants to challenge the rest of the businesses in town to take part in this year’s Clearwater Shopping Centre Trolley Race.

According to a Supreme Pet representative, René Victor, a trolley race is a shopping trolley race and each trolley is raced by four participants between two points.

Three people are the runners pushing the trolley and the fourth person is the pilot and must be seated in the trolley for the duration of the race.

The trolley race entrance fee is R500 per trolley and the money collected is for the charity fund of Round Table Roodepoort 162 club.

“The Charity fund is used to support two main nominated charities, the Gateway Society and Matla a bana,” says René.

The trolleys race around Clearwater Mall in a pre-selected demarcated route through the parking areas.

The route is about three kilometers in distance with a water point at the halfway mark. The race will take place on 18 August from 7.30am.
