The Randfontein Community Policing Forum (CPF) urges residents to join them in their efforts to intensify the fight against crime by adding them on their social media platforms in the form of WhatsApp, BBM and facebook.
According to CPF Deputy Chairperson for Sector 4, Warren Anderson, this is in line with their mandate of not only reducing criminal activities in Randfontein but to root them out completely.
“We are working on implementing any and every way to combat crime.
“Looking at the power of social media, we thought it best to introduce a platform where residents can interact with us.
“As an organisation that relies on the community to be our eyes and ears, I think that our social media sites will assist in curbing crime as residents can always report criminal activities and blow whistle on perpetrators online.
“Even if its just the slightest suspicion that someone could be committing crime at your neighbours’ house, we encourage you to use these platforms to report it.
“Not only does it make a lot of people’s lives easier especially now that almost everyone is on social platforms, it just improves our reaction time to incidents,” says Anderson.
Anyone who wishes to interact with the CPF can like their facebook page, which is CPF Randfontein, or connect with them via their BlackBerry Messenger service (BBM) on pin number 2728F4D6.
Residents also can send their name, surname and area to 082 8542 731 and the relevant personnel for their sector will invite them on WhatsApp.
