MEC for Economic Development in Gauteng Nkosiphendule Kholisile has died in a massive head on collision with a truck on 20 July.

The accident happened while the late Kholisile, also the ANC Regional Deputy Chairperson in the West Rand, was on his way to a funeral in the Eastern Cape.

It remains unclear as to how the fatal accident occured or who was at fault.

According to the ANC Communications Unit Head and Randfontein Speaker, Mzi Khumalo, Kholisile’s death was sudden and came as a shock to his family, friends and colleagues.

“It saddens us to know that we have lost one of our members through such a tragedy.

“I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that he will be dearly missed.

“We as the ANC in the West Rand send our deepest condolences to his family and his loved ones as well.

“We can only imagine what they are going through but they are in our thoughts and in our prayers” says Khumalo.

He describes the late Kholisile as a man who dedicated his life to fighting the struggles of the poor within the West Rand and provincially.

“He was a kind and noble man and fought for what he believed in.

“He will surely be missed for his character and loving nature,” says Khumalo.

Kholisile will be buried on 3 August in the Eastern Cape where he hails from.
