Local NPA branch invites residents to an information seminar

Some people are clueless about the law and their rights.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Randfontein invites all residents to an information seminar at the Toekomsrus Community Hall on 30 July from 9am to 1pm.

This is to educate communities about the mandate of the NPA and address issues pertaining to social ills and matters of the law.

According to NPA’s Regional Communications Manager Phindi Louw, there is a bridge that exists between residents and crucial information about the justice system.

“We have come to realize that some people are clueless about the law and their rights and this is a problem that needs to be dealt with.

“In line with this, we will be educating the communities about issues affecting their daily lives such as rape, domestic violence, maintenance issues and drug abuse among other pressing matters

“I urge all residents to attend the seminar because it will be for their benefit and if not, it will surely be to the benefit of others such as family members and friends ” says Louw.

At the platform, the NPA will be partnering with the Randfontein Local Municipality, Randfontein SAPS, the Correctional Services Department, stakeholders within the criminal justice system and other departments.

Together they will be making a presentation on how to curb the scourge of drug abuse that continues to destroy lives in numerous communities.

During this time, residents will be informed on how they can assist drug abusers or their families in dealing with the problem.
