CPF to hold another community meeting
Criminals are always out and about. We need to be two steps ahead of them.
The Randfontein Community Policing Forum (CPF) is set to have another crime awareness meeting on 13 August at the Randfontein Rugby club.
The meeting is set to start at 6pm and residents who are invited are those who reside in sector 4 namely Greenhills, Culemborg Park, Helikon Park, Eike Park, Randpoort, Randgate and Homelake.
According to CPF Deputy Chairperson for Sector 4 Warren Anderson, the meeting is a platform for the CPF to reflect back on the challenges faced by the different communities and to review methods that may be used in fighting crime.
“We are happy with the fact that residents have decided to be active in fighting crime and that is what we want to see.
“However we cannot sit back and say that we are victorious yet because criminals never rest.
“They are always out and about and we, together with residents, need to be two steps ahead of them
“It is the only way we can ensure our safety and keep them out of our communities,” says Anderson
He adds that the CPF is set to meet with the Randfontein SAPS to discuss crime trends in communities as well as possible solutions.
“I urge residents to make use of our social platforms to report suspected criminal activities in their communities as well as to make suggestions on how the CPF can improve on its mandate.
“A community that is fed-up with crime and willing to join hands with us is exactly what we want,” says Anderson
