Westonaria police have launched a manhunt for three suspects wanted for a business robbery at a local shop in Glenhavie on 27 April at approximately 6pm.
According to Westonaria SAPS spokesperson Constable Thembi Masango, the suspects entered the shop in question and immediately produced firearms.
“Two suspects were armed with firearms and ordered the cashier together with customers to lie down on the floor.
“While this happend, the other suspect ransacked the shop taking money, airtime and other valuable goods.
“After this, all three suspects fled on foot and disappeared into a nearby veld,” says Masango.
Masango explains thatthe brother of one of the cashiers saw entire incident through the window and was the one who alerted the police.
“We are glad to have received the call and fortunately no one was harmed despite the fact that a shot was fired during the incident.
“The suspects have been captured on CCTV and they have now been possivitely identified.
“We appeal to anyone who might have any information about the incident to come forward and contact Westonaria SAPS on 011 278-5331.”
