A 37-year-old farm worker was robbed at gunpoint at the workers’ residence on a farm in Brandvlei on 5 August.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, four robbers wearing balaclavas entered the workers’ residence at approximately 11.30pm.
They encountered a farm worker outside the living quarters and started assaulting him.
“The commotion was heard by anther worker who opened his door to intervene, when one of the suspects produced a firearm and ordered both workers into the living quarters,” says Ernst.
“The suspects demanded cash and took money from all the occupants of the quarters before fleeing from the scene on foot.”
Ernst says that the victim sustained minor injuries due to the assault, but no shots were fired during the incident.
