The Westonaria Police need your help in locating a rapist that is still roaming the streets of Westonaria and possibly looking to prey on more victims
This follows an incident where the suspect in question attacked a 20-year-old woman in a veld in Westonaria in May this year.
According to Westonaria SAPS spokesperson Thembi Masango, the woman had just left a tavern and was walking to her boyfriend’s house prior to the incident.
“The suspect approached her from behind and insisted to walk to her home because it was late at night.
“He apparently offered her R50 in exchange for sex, which she refused,” says Masango.
She adds that the suspect did not take kindly to the rejection and dragged the woman through the veld to a secluded area.
There, he ordered her to undress herself at gunpoint.
He then pushed her to the ground and raped her.
It is understood that after the incident, the suspect walked the victim home and immediately fled on foot.
“We will not rest until we have caught him,” says Masango.
