A 15-year-old girl was attacked and raped by two men traveling in a grey Opel Corsa and the police have launched a massive manhunt following the incident which occurred on 11 April this year.
According to Westonaria SAPS spokesperson Thembi Masango, the girl was walking to her friend’s house when the incident occurred.
The girl was approached by two men who attacked her from behind and covered her mouth with a cloth that is believed to have been poisoned.
It is believed that the suspects then forced the girl into the car and drove her to a secluded area in Hillshaven.
Upon arrival, they tied her to a tree with shoelaces and took turns raping her.
After the incident, they ditched her at the scene and took off in their getaway vehicle.
Fortunately, the girl was able to untie her self and eventually found her way home.
According to Masango, the girl’s mother was sick with worry when her daughter had not returned home by 5pm on the day in question
She contacted her friends and none of them had seen her.
“She took her neighbour’s vehicle and drove around the area searching for her child but to no avail,” says Masango.
“At approximately 9pm, the child arrived home and informed her mother of the entire ordeal,” says Masango.
She adds that they reported the matter at the police and that the girl was able to assist in compiling an identikit
Anyone who may have any information with regards to the incident is urged to contact the Westonaria police on 011 278 5300.
