Be part of the Toekomsrus men’s campaign
Men within the community are encouraged to attend this campaing and take back their rightful place in the society.
An initiative aimed at promoting the role of men in their communities has been launched in Toekomsrus.
According to one of the organisers of this campaign, Helen Duran, they will host a gala event on 24 September where every man in the community can come and enjoy the day along with their friends.
“This event will see various public speakers addressing the men present about drug and alcohol abuse, violence, identity and purpose of men, as well as the importance of education,” says Helen.
She explains that their motivation behind this event is to get men more involved with their families, their households and their communities, as well as to help them to turn away from drug and alcohol abuse.
“Our aim is to get every man in the Toekomsrus community out of their addictions and back to their rightful place in the society, where their children, wives and families can respect them and their actions,” says Helen.
“Therefore, we want to invite every man in the community to come and enjoy the day with us at the Toekomsrus Community Hall on 24 September at 10am. The event is completely free of charge and includes a meal.”
