Thuto Lehakwe Secondary School pupils at Mohlakeng were in an uncontrollable state of delirium over the presence of popular soapie actor Lungile Radu, popularly known as Sbu from Etv soapie, Rhythm City.
According to event organiser and local taxi driver Chaeryll Luthers, Radu was there to give a motivational talk to pupils on matters pertaining to life skills.
“He did not only come to give a motivational talk though,” says Luthers.
“He was also here to record part of a youth programme called Forever Young for the DSTV channel Mzanzi Magic.
“The programme deals with everything that affects the youth from how to deal with poverty to dealing with drug abuse and teen pregnancy.”
This was the second similar event organised by Luthers at a local school.
Last year he arranged for popular musician, DJ Sbu, to entertain pupils of the Phahama Secondary School.
“My aim is to bring positivity to the lives of these pupils,” says Luthers.
“In many cases, their lives are all about just trying to get by and avoid the dangers that modern life holds.
“I want to show them that despite coming from humble beginnings, they can reach success and become the leaders that this country needs.”
