EFF members ditch red berets to join the ANC
Provincial ANC spokesperson Nkeke Kekana went on twitter to boast the return of their members.
Approximately 38 members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Westonaria have decided to jump ship and have opted to join the ANC ahead of the upcoming National and Provincial elections scheduled to take place on 7 May.
This was announced provincial ANC spokesperson Nkeke Kekana who boasted on twitter.
The number of those who have jumped ship has since grown to over 80 people.
The Herald decided to speak to Sipho Mabaso who is among those who have ditched their red berets.
According to Mabaso, they were welcomed back into the party with open arms.
“We are glad to be back with the political party that fought the apartheid regime in order for us to have the freedom that we enjoy today.
“Whilst we sometimes felt that service delivery was happening at a snails pace, we have come to realize and accept that Rome was not built in a day,” says Mabaso.
