Man killed in terror truck collision

ER24: Two trucks and five light motor vehicles involved.

A man has been killed after a multiple vehicle collision on the N1 highway near the 14th road turn-off, West of Johannesburg on Tuesday.

“When ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, arrived on scene, they found three lanes of the highway blocked by numerous vehicles. Two trucks and five light motor vehicles lay across the scene, with debris spread across the road.

On assessment, paramedics found the driver of the truck lying trapped inside his vehicle in a critical condition. Paramedics and rescue services worked tirelessly, using the jaws-of-life equipment, to free the trapped man.

“Unfortunately, after some time, the man succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries. Fortunately no other injuries were found on scene.”

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
