CPF’s boerie day a success

Residents were queuing at the Greenhills circle over the weekend to get a taste of the delicious boerewors rolls and mouthwatering slush puppies on sale during the Community Policing Forum (CPF) sector four’s much talked about braai for a good cause.
The braai was aimed at gathering funds to buy patrollers emergency kits for the festive season. Mapogo, EPR and Boz security groups as well as Netcare 911 and ER24 all took part in the event.
We wanted to show the community that in the end, we all work together to ensure a safer Randfontein,” said Nattilly van der Westhuizen, from the CPF sector four.
It was a beautiful summers’s morning when they gathered at the Greenhills circle. Mapogo security offered free mineral water to residents and Boz supplied the music.
Everybody was hard at work while Charl Jager and Albertus van den Berg from the CPF as well as Mike van Zyl, Operational Manager of EPR were showing off their braai master skills.
Children and adults enjoyed the ice cold slush puppies on the hot day while Rika Venter from the CPF sector four had her hands full making sure everybody received their order.
Although they are competition yet serving the same purpose of rescuing those in serious trouble, ambulances from ER24 as well as Netcare 911 were seen parked side-by-side – a symbol of their teamwork in Randfontein.
Mike Venter from Carpet Fantasy sponsored the area in front of his store to the Boz team. The trustees of this elite centre also sponsored R500 on behalf of all the tenants.
Johan Booysen, owner of EPR West Rand also was present and enjoyed the day with his employees.
The CPF sector four would like to thank all residents, security companies as well as emergency services for their support in making the day a huge success.
