Crime in Randfontein and all over South Africa has become an everyday occurrence and the public need to find ways to protect themselves.
Technology is also developing faster and faster making it easier for people to make contact with a loved one in time of dire need but sometimes in dangerous situations, it is not as easy as dialling a number and waiting for help to arrive.
The Bull Horns Panic Button phone app will make this a thing of the past. The app allows the someone in danger to to press the panic button that automatically sends and SMS notification to an emergency contact with their location.
The app’s team can also remotely track the location of a person in danger in real-time even if they are on the move and cannot speak. The panic button will also start calling the selected emergency number for assistance if the person can talk.
The app also acts as a real-time database of suspicious activities nearby as well as crime hotspots.. Anyone who has the app can also report suspicious activities.
Furthermore, the app has a selfie capability where anyone with the app can upload a selfie to help police or other emergency service to recognise you in an emergency situation. Lastly, the app has emergency numbers of more than 150 countries pre-loaded on it which makes the app usable anywhere in the world.
The app is completely free and is available on the Google Play Store for Android users and on iTunes for iPhone users.
