Randfontein Police confirmed on Wednesday that an inquest has been launched following the death of a baby over the weekend.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear. Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson explained to the Herald that murder can not be confirmed at this stage.
The incident allegedly took place at a house on a farm in the Randfontein area.
