Body of dead woman found in house fire – Police.

A 57-year-old woman died early on Saturday, 22 October, in a house fire in Mohlakeng, said the Randfontein Police.

Captain Appel Ernst, the Randfontein Police spokesperson, stated, “Police officers were called to a house which was on fire in Mutjwadi Street in the area at about 6am. Upon their arrival they found the local fire brigade busy extinguishing the flames.”

Ernst continued, “The fire was extinguished, the premises were searched and the body of the deceased woman was found in her bed. The cause of the fire is under investigation and a postmortem will determine the cause of the woman’s death.”

The Randfontein Police are conducting an inquest and the investigating officer, Sergeant Nomsa Thebe would appreciate any information that might assist in the investigation. Her contact details are 011 278 8100.
