The Randfontein Police have confirmed that a foetuswas recently discovered at the Randfontein Dumping Site.
Captain Appel Ernst, the Randfontein Police spokesperson, said a female waste recycler at the dump-site allegedly found the foetus while searching the area for recyclable material on Friday, 21 October.
The woman said she came across the foetus after spotting a bloody bag discarded at the dump-site. On investigating, she allegedly found the foetus and called the Randfontein Police.
The foetus was removed to a government mortuary for a post-mortem. The investigation into the matter is continuing,” Ernst said.
Warrant Officer Pappas Mhlongo is investigating the case and is calling on the public to assist him with any information that could assist him.
