A 31-year-old man and his friend recently fell victim to a robbery and car-jacking.
The ordeal took place in Hansie Kotze Street, Eike Park, at approximately 7pm on Monday, 24 October.
According to Captain Appel Ernst, the Randfontein Police spokesperson, the man was visiting a friend when they were confronted by two unknown male suspects who initially parked next to them.
Ernst said the men were armed and held both the victim and his friend up with the firearms. The victims were then allegedly forced into the back of a vehicle and the armed suspects took their cellphones, wallets and a bank card.
The victims were then driven to an ATM were they were forced to withdraw money. Later the suspects took the 31-year-old victim’s blue BMW 120, with the registration number DD 07 MP GP.
“No serious injuries were reported,” Ernst said.
