A 27-year-old hiker was recently robbed at gunpoint while standing on Main Reef Road next to a garage in Westergloor, local police said.
Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson said, “It is alleged by the victim that he was next to the road when he was approached by two men. They stood next to him as if they were also awaiting a lift.
“Suddenly one of the men pulled out a firearm and told him to take out his wallet. They took his property, which included cash and his cellphone before they ran away.”
