Hijacking near hospital: Two persons sought

Two men are sought in connection with a hijacking near Lenmed Hospital in Randfontein recently.

Randfontein Police are looking for two men regarding a hijacking that occurred near the Lenmed Hospital in March this year.

The suspects were allegedly driving a white Nissan Tiida at the time of the incident.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson said, “We are urgently awaiting information regarding two persons who might assist in the investigation of a hijacking that took place on 2 March.”

The suspects are described as follows:

• Suspect 1: A coffee-coloured male, between the ages of 39 and 42. He is chubby and approximately 1,7 m tall. He has a sharp nose and short hair. The suspect is Zulu-speaking and was dressed in a cream/ white shirt with brown trousers at the time of the incident.

• Suspect 2: A dark complexioned male, between the ages of 32 and 35, and of medium build. He is approximately 1,68 m tall and has short hair. He also spoke Zulu and was wearing a purple work suit top with blue trousers at the time of the incident.

The police said that anyone with information about the identity of these two men is requested to contact Warrant Officer Bester of the Trio Task Team on 079 4966288. Alternatively, contact the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or the SMS Crime Line (32211) to report crime anonymously.

“Assist the Gauteng Police to fight fraud, corruption, unethical behaviour or any other suspicious activities that could be detrimental to our success by phoning the Gauteng Standby Provincial Duty numbers: Duty General – 082 313 8299 or Duty Brigadier – 082 444 4354,” the police said.
