To acknowledge the contribution of these members, Major General Fred Kekana, West Rand Cluster commander hosted a medal parade at the Greenhills Stadium on Friday, 2 August .

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, he awarded medals for 10, 20 and 30 year of loyal service to officers and members from all 13 stations in the West Rand Cluster.
“The Centenary medal was also awarded during the event,” Ernst said.

The prestigious event was opened by a full military parade and at the end the Police Band played the national anthem.
Members from police stations in Randfontein, Westonaria, and Bekkersdal were among those who were acknowledged for their service.
