Caxton sampling campaign: A Herald newspaper that kills all germs!

Our readers received a free sample of Domestos, which is part of Caxton Local Media's 'try before you buy' sampling.

Readers were again treated to a free sample, this time Domestos, which is part of a new adventure for Caxton Local Media.

With this week’s edition of the Herald dated 20 November 2020 some of our readers received a free sample of Domestos.

It was the second time as our readers received a free sample of Sunlight washing powder in the Herald edition dated 25 September 2020.

According to Dejané Poil, Head of Retail Marketing & Innovation at Caxton Local Media, the reason for the free samples is for consumers to trial the product, then purchase it the next time they are in the market for this type of cleaning product.

She added that 15 000 Domestos samples were sent out in Randfontein.

“Randfontein was chosen because it is an economically active area, and the brand wanted to target this consumer group,” Dejané said.

She added that free samples will be distributed again because brands find this an extremely effective way to engage with consumers by giving them of their products to try, meaning ‘try before you buy’.
