Traffic fines worth R38 500 issued in safer festive season operation

The roadblock brought huge successes as three arrests were made - police.

At least 37 traffic fines to the value of R38 500 were issued and three people arrested during a roadblock last week.

The Randfontein Police in partnership with the Rand West Traffic Department held a safer festive season operation roadblock at the intersection of the R559 and Main Reef Road on Friday, 20 November between 9am and noon.

According to Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the roadblock brought huge successes as three arrests were made – two of those arrested were illegal immigrants and the other person was found in possession of dagga.

Carmen added that 506 people and 250 motor vehicles were searched at that particular roadblock.
