Out of the nine crime incidents reported to EPR Security West Rand for the period from Friday, 5 to Sunday, 7 February in Rand West City, seven occurred at residences.
According to Johan Krogh, General Manager at EPR, two armed robberies, one at a business in Westonaria and the other at a residence in Waterpan, as well as two break-ins – one at a residence in Homelake and the other at a church in Randgate – were among the concerning incidents.
Business owners are urged once again to remain vigilant and to ensure that they have easy access to a panic button in the event of an armed robbery. It is important to test the panic buttons with their relevant security service provider at least once a month.”
