Young man nabbed with alleged stolen TV

A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a plasma TV on Tuesday 23 February in Bekkersdal.

A 22-year-old man was arrested recently for allegedly stealing a plasma TV in Bekkersdal. Two other suspects managed to get away.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, the Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, police spotted the suspects during a routine operation at about 1pm on Holomisa Street.

The suspect could not give a reasonable explanation as to where he got the TV, or where he was taking it. He was arrested immediately and charged with possession of stolen goods, while his accomplices remain at large,” Lefakane said.

Police are appealing to the community to report any crime as it happens, to help police eliminate the black market for stolen goods.
