Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 26 – No new deaths reported
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 152 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 6 884. A total of 6 635 people have recovered so far. There has been 223 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 26.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 12 437 and 4 905 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 12 015 and 4 635 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 24 233 with 794 deaths and 23 287 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 152.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 20 646 and 20 209 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 413 641 with 401 049 recoveries and 10 250 deaths. This translates to 2 342 active cases within the Province.
