Elderly at Wings spoiled for Easter
Children did the hiding and the elderly the hunting during Easter celebrations at the Wings of Inspiration Elderly Care Centre in Wilbotsdal.
The Wings of Inspiration Elderly Care Centre celebrated Easter in a fun manner this year.
Andrè Smith, housefather at the centre, explained that they had an Easter egg hunt where children did the hiding and the elderly did the hunting on Friday, 2 April.
The elderly residents also received gifts and were spoiled by directors Anthea da Costa, Kirsten Richardson and Shane Peyper.
Anthea said they received donations of night and day cream for women from HOT 91.9 FM, and toiletries from Pick n Pay which they used to make up hampers for the women which had some Easter eggs in them, and the men at the Centre were spoiled with Easter eggs.
“Someone donated piñatas to us, so we also had a piñata Easter egg hunt where the residents had to hit the piñata to get the Easter eggs. We did the same at our orphanage, Women’s Shelter and the Care Centre,” said Anthea.
She added that it was a very eventful day and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
