Several new captain appointments to boost policing in District

Police in the West Rand District were strengthened when five new captains were appointed.

Five newly promoted captains in the West Rand District Police signed their ethical oaths in Krugersdorp on Tuesday 13, April.

The members were introduced to Major General Fred Kekana, the West Rand District Police Commissioner and will be serving at their respective police stations across the West Rand.

The newly promoted members are Captain Lungile Ivan Njadu; Captain Pearl Lesego Seretsi; Captain Ricky Mohau Phandlela; Captain Phindile Avis Kekana; and Captain Tinny Hazel Motshana.

Kekana, who congratulated and welcomed all the members said, “We all signed a code of ethics and made an oath that we are going to serve the community; therefore, it is your duty to make sure you uphold the image of the police”.

Kekana added that the members should not relax in their new positions and continue working and being committed to fighting crime in the region.
