Next of kin of apparent hit-and-run victim sought

The Carletonville Police are trying to identify this deceased man.

Carletonville Police have opened an inquest docket after a man died as a result of the injuries he sustained following a suspected hit-and-run almost two years ago.

According to Warrant Officer Peter Masooa, spokesperson for the West Rand District Police, local authorities were called to Carletonville Hospital at about 3.50am on 3 December 2019.

He said the man was brought to Carletonville Hospital after he was found under a bridge next to Extension 5, Khutsong. He did not have any form of identification on him and was brought to the hospital by ambulance.

Masooa said the man was fatally injured in a suspected hit-and-run.

The Carletonville Police are requesting any person who might recognise or know the person pictured or the family of the deceased to give information to Warrant Officer Stander on 018 787 9317 or 083 253 8522.

“The family might be looking for him and you might help them to get an answer,” said Masooa.
