Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City up to 80
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 423 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 7 155. A total of 6 843 people have recovered so far. There has been 232 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 80.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 13 031 and 5 412 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 12 374 and 5 120 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 25 605 with 843 deaths and 24 339 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 423.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 21 819 and 20 961 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 436 487 with 417 419 recoveries and 10 913 deaths. This translates to 8 155 active cases within the Province.
