West Randers can now get their jab

In Rand West City you can get your vaccine at the Randgate Clinic. These sites are open between 8am and 3pm from Mondays to Fridays.

Monday, 17 May, marked a special moment in South African history with the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccinations being rolled out.

Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhisi; the Gauteng Premier, David Makhura; and Gauteng MEC for Health, Nomathemba Mokgethi visited the Munsieville Care for the Aged and Moria Old Age Home where the first phase-two vaccines were administered.

In addition to citizens over the age of 60 being eligible to receive the vaccine, healthcare-worker vaccinations also continued with phase 1B of the roll-out, which means those healthcare workers who have not yet received their jab could still get it. Phase 1B focuses on healthcare workers, traditional health practitioners, and employees at funeral parlours.

If you fall in one of these two categories and are registered on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) you will receive a confirmation SMS with your vaccination site and date.

The Mogale City vaccination sites are Leratong Hospital, Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital and Munsieville Care for the Aged. In Rand West City you can get your vaccine at the Randgate Clinic. These sites are open between 8am and 3pm from Mondays to Fridays.

The Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) would like to encourage the elderly to get vaccinated once they have registered.
