Mapogo A Mathamaga Security said three serious incidents were reported for their client base for the period from Monday, June 7 to Sunday, June 13.
A breakdown of the crime incidents are as follows:
• Monday, June 7 at 08:29 – Housebreaking and theft, 2nd Street, Aureus
Thugs gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the roof and forcing open a small window. They stole jewellery and a cellphone through the window. The area was not protected by an alarm sensor, therefore the Mapogo Control Centre received no alarm signal.
• Thursday, June 10 at 06:23 – Assault, Angelier Street, Homelake
Assailants assaulted the security guard and fled the scene.
• Sunday, June 13 at 18:13 – Theft, Benson Street, West Porges
The client informed Mapogo that some garden chairs were found to be missing from the premises and were taken from the premises at an unknown time.
Ben explained that residents should test their alarm systems regularly for system faults, and to ensure that they have adequate access available for their security company, which will ensure that the premises can be thoroughly inspected and provide suitable access to emergency services in case of an emergency.
“Always ensure that your animals are protected from possible poisonings. Never touch any animal that was poisoned, as the poison might spread to you,” warned Willemse.
