Looting and unrest threat: EPR to keep a watchful eye

EPR’s latest crime report shows 21 incidents. 'We'll be on high alert to monitor the treats of rioting and looting' – General Manager confirms

A total of 21 incidents were reported across Rand West City, according to EPR Security’s crime report for the period Monday, July 5 to Saturday, July 10.

According to EPR general manager, Johan Krogh at least 11 incidents occurred at businesses, followed by another eight at places of residence and two at churches.

Theft was on top of the list, with six incidents being reported.

Theft occurred at a residence on Wildebees Street in Greenhills; a residence on Springbok Street in Greenhills; a church on Davies Street in Westonaria; a business on Steyer Street in Aureus; a business on a plot in Elandsvlei; and a business on Union Street in Randgate. Break-ins were next on the list, with five incidents being reported.

Johan stated that break-ins, theft and vehicle theft amongst other incidents remain a concern as they review the incidents for the past week.

We confirm that EPR is on high alert the next week to monitor the treats of rioting and looting, and we urge business owners to remain vigilant.”
