A man with multiple stab wounds was found dead in the Holomisa section of Bekkersdal early Friday morning, August 6.
Local police said the victim is believed to be in his 30s.
The deceased was found with stab wounds to his head and arms. Information about the apparent killing of the victim is not yet known but a murder case has since been opened.
“The victim was wearing a black Adidas track top, and brown or black trousers with black All Star takkies,” said Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, Sergeant Linkie Lefakane.
She added that anyone who might have information that could lead to the tracing of the deceased’s next of kin or the arrest of the perpetrator(s) may contact the Bekkersdal Police on 011 755 8040/ 8069 or contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111; alternatively information may be send anonymously via the my SAPS app, or send an SMS to 32211.
The Bekkersdal Police station commander. Colonel Phumelele Matamela condemned the criminal behaviour in the entire policing area and advised the community to be cautious and vigilant at all times.
We urge you to be our eyes and ears. Report any suspicious behaviour to the police immediately so that they can investigate,” Matamela added.
