Bekkersdal Police have urged the public to help identify the body that was found near Cooke 4 Mine in Westonaria on Tuesday 21 September.
According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, spokesperson for the police, the body was discovered at around 11:30 by a local who was fetching wood nearby.

“She immediately contacted the police and an inquest was opened. Investigations regarding this matter are underway, and we are yet to determine the cause. The body has been taken to the Carletonville Government Mortuary,” Lefakane said.
The deceased was wearing cream jeans, a blue work site jacket with black water boots.
“Anyone who might have information that could help to identify the deceased may contact the police on 08600 10111; alternatively contact detective Warrant Officer Calvin Mojapelo on 082 498 9484,” Lefakane added.
