Three housebreaking and theft incidents in a week – Mapogo

It was a relatively quiet weekend for Mapogo with only four incidents reported by their client base - mostly of housbreaking and theft.

It was yet another relatively quiet week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security with only a few incidents being reported in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said only four incidents were reported for their client base for the period between Monday, September 27 and Sunday, October 3.

A breakdown of the crime incidents:

• Tuesday, September 28 at 06:50 – Housebreaking and theft on Raven Street, Greenhills: Intruders forced open a window at the rear of the premises and stole two monitors and approximately R1 500 cash from the premises.

• Tuesday, September 28 at 08:16 – Stock theft at Hillside Plots: Mapogo was informed that intruders gained entry onto the premises by cutting the perimeter fence wires where they stole five goats and fled the scene.

• Wednesday, September 29 23:35 – Housebreaking and theft on Henning Street, Randgate: Thugs broke the lock and chain from the door, stole a laptop computer from the shop, and fled the scene.

• Thursday, September 30 at 20:53 – Housebreaking and theft on Van Riebeeck Street, Homelake: Intruders gained entry into the premises by forcing open the back door. Two cases of cold drinks were taken before the suspects fled the scene.
