Theft the number-one incident during Easter weekend – Mapogo crime report

An employee was arrested for stealing meat from a premises in Randridge. In Greenhills two outside lights were stolen from the perimeter wall.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security released its latest crime report for their client base in Rand West City.

According to Operations Manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse, six incidents were reported for the period Monday, April 11 to Sunday, April 17.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Wednesday, April 13 at 09:06 – Theft, De Villiers Street, Randridge: An employee was caught stealing meat from the premises and was arrested for theft.

• Wednesday, April 13 at 12:41 – Theft, 11th Street, Hectorton: Perpetrators entered the shop pretending to be customers and stole a cell phone from the cashier’s desk.

• Thursday, April 14 at 07:05 – Housebreaking and theft, Horingbek Avenue, Helikon Park: Perpetrators placed the gate motor on manual, and went to the back of the premises where they stole two speakers.

• Thursday, April 14 at 19:43 – Housebreaking and theft, Jan Fiskaal Avenue, Helikon Park: Perpetrators entered the premises by lifting the front gate, broke a window to gain entry into the house and stole items.

• Saturday, April 16 at 02:23 – Theft, Drakenstein Street, Culemborg Park: Perpetrators gained entry to the premises, forced open the burglar bars of the dining room window and stole a guitar from the premises.

• Saturday, April 16 at 20:33 – Theft, Nightingale Street, Greenhills: Perpetrators stole two outside lights from the perimeter wall.
