We would like to make a difference in the community and environment seeing that global warming and air pollution are increasing daily.
“Trees also protect against floods, climate change and water pollution. Trees also ease the mind during stressful times,” said Ansie Fourie from the agency.
Frans le Grange, owner of the agency explained they decided to plant casuarina trees as they are windbreaking trees. The idea is to teach the learners about responsibility by taking care of the trees and love for nature as trees offer us both oxygen and shade.
Ansie mentioned they plan on watching how the tree grows and they have selected a Grade One learner who they would like to see grow alongside the tree. When he is in Grade Seven, they will photograph the two of them next to each other.
Three of the trees were planted at the front of the school and four near the sports grounds.
