Lucas Molefe is disappointed about how they are being treated as residents.
“It seems like some buildings are on the verge of collapse, and we are only marching to grab the attention of the officials and get them on board.

We feel neglected. We have been complaining, but there has been no response. Even the sewerage is poorly installed. It had been five years since the RDP housing development was built,” Molefe stated.

Another resident, Nontsikelelo Foloti, said they are profoundly angry about the situation.

“We are fuming to the core. Must people die before the municipality prioritises our safety? We want to be relocated to another RDP house before any of us get hurt,” she explained.

The Randfontein Herald has since reached out to Rand West City Local Municipality’s spokesperson, Phillip Montshiwa, who acknowledged the requests for comment. However, no feedback has been received as of yet.
